My holy grail skincare products for dry skin!

Hello and Happy New Year, everyone! Since we are now in the middle of the winter, my skin is super dry, especially my face and hands. Like most people’s are, but especially us spoonies out there who are on medication that can make dry skin worse. So here are some skincare products that I love to help combat all the dry skin and dullness that comes with it.

Aquaphor

Aquaphor is amazing and does wonders for dry skin. It is an emollient, which is a type of moisturizer that is a really thick cream that will lock in all the skin’s moisture. This moisturizer should be used as a treatment for the scaly, cracked, irritated, or dry patches on the skin since it is so thick in texture. I usually use this as my last step in skincare since I go by the moto lightest to heavy products. Aquaphor Advance Therapy

CeraVe Hydrating Cream to Foam Cleanser

If you are dealing with dry skin it’s important to have a cleanser that will not strip your skin of what little oil it has. This CeraVe cleanser will not strip your skin but actually help hydrate it as you are cleaning your face. It leaves my skin soft to the touch and my face does not feel tight afterward which is a sign of the skin being stripped of its oils.CeraVe Hydrating Cream to Foam Cleanser

Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask

Dry skin means we also have a lot of dead skin cells that need to be taken off. So instead of using a physical exfoliation, I really love this AHA-BHA mask from Versed. It is actually a really gentle chemical exfoliator and is great at removing dead skin cells. My skin feels so smooth after and the best part is that it does not cause more irritation to my skin. Now I will say if you have open sores/cuts from picking at your skin do not use this wait until it is healed first because it will burn and make the cut worse. Vitamins and Sea beauty Sea Lavender Chamomile Overnight Hydration Sleep Mask

Overnight facial masks are actually a lifesaver. They can be used like a regular mask that you leave on for 10 mins then wash off or can be used as a moisturizer and leave it on overnight. I like to leave this mask on overnight and use it as my nighttime moisturizer since the texture is very creamy and lightweight. But it blends into the skin nicely and pairs well with having the Aquaphor on top in my tough dry patches. I actually do not wash it off in the morning as it just leaves my skin hydrated and plump.

Cocokind Chia Facial Oil

Everyone needs a good facial oil! This one by cocokind is a really good one. I use this product as the last step in my skincare routine to lock my moisturizer and serum in. I also only use this if I don’t need the heavy-duty emollient creams that day. This is when I actually stay on top of my skincare and do not allow for the dry spots to form. Cocokind Chia Facial Oil

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5

This product is a miracle worker. If my skin is really inflamed and burning and nothing I have mentioned before has helped the dryness. Then it’s time to bring out the big guns which is the balm. I can put it on day or night and it helps soothe the burning on my face real quick. I like to just use the CeraVE cleanser, soothing serum, and then the balm on top at night to really let the balm do its work. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5
