10 Best Christmas Gifts for Your Friends With Rheumatoid Arthritis!

As the Christmas season descends upon us, here is a list of gift ideas to think about getting your friends and family members with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

(I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. This means you are supporting me and the blog when you purchase using these links, thank you so much, it means a lot to me!)

RA affects every part of a person’s life so getting some gifts that can make our lives a bit easier and enjoyable is greatly appreciated.

Bed Rest Pillow– Bed rest pillows help support a person in a comfortable upright position whether they are in bed doing work. watching tv, or reading. They make some really nice and extra full ones so the shape stays longer. Some even have arms that come with pockets for your phone or remotes.

Laptop Lap Desk– One of the downsides of RA is the exhaustion it comes with, the times where it’s to tiring to leave the house or even bed. A laptop desk can help you perform tasks, send emails, and hold online meetings from the comfort of your bed or couch. It might also be used as a place-setting for meals or as a platform for streaming their favorite show.

Bedside Caddy– Bedside caddies are great for storing things that you need or want close by like compression gloves for your hands to help the achiness and swelling in the joints.

Heated Mittens– I think this gift idea is pretty self explained but heat pads really help to relieve joint pain. And to have them in mitten style is a great plus since you can heat them up in the microwave before bed slip your hands in and fall asleep to less painful warm hands and wrists.

Stuffed Animal Heating Pad– Who doesn’t want a hug from a stuffed animal that’s also a heat pad ! When I was them I instantly thought of kids who have juvenile idiopathic arthritis. They can use them as a tool to help relieve their pain as well as a comfort tool as autoimmune arthritis puts a lot of stress and mental strain on those who suffer from it no matter the age.

Audible subscription or a book from their favorite author/genre– If your RA friend is an avid reader then getting them a audible subscription or a book from their favorite genre would be greatly loved. Especially if they get infusions done as part of their treatment plan, since infusions can sometimes take hours and books are a great distraction to help pass the time.

Bath Bombs or Shower Steamers– Theses are great ways to relax after an exhausting and painful day! Some bath bombs are even made with CBD oil which can help aid pain relief in RA sufferers. Shower steamers are great for wanting to have a relaxing shower in a short amount of time, the aroma plus the warm water on the muscles will help relieve some of the stress and tension your friend with RA has.

Yoga Knee Pads– Anyone with RA will know that movement is a big help and part of the treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. One type of exercise recommend is yoga, to help encourage strength, flexibility, and mobility that RA sufferers will/can lose. I personally have gaiam yoga knee pads and I actually like them alot and they help during my yoga practice. My knee are one of the joints that is greatly affected by my RA and this helps with the pain that I feel from the lack of cushion on most yoga matts. (here’s the link to them on amazon if you want to try them: Gaiam Yoga Knee Pads)

Face masks – Face masks are another way to pamper and relax oneself especially during a hard and tiring time like during an RA flare. There are two that are awesome masks! One is the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme De-Tox Hydrator, it is super hydrating and soothing. It really helps with calming down inflamed dry skin that RA can cause sometimes. Added bonus it can be put in the fridge and give a cooling effect once placed on the skin, it’s so nice. (link to the mask:Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask Extreme De-Tox Hydrator) Mask number two is the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask, it’s a clay mask that does a great job at absorbing the oils on and in your skin and pores. I find it less harsh and drying then the other clay masks. I also use it as a spot treatment on pimples that have not come to a head yet. Travel Pillow– Travel pillows are great for a little cat nap during their infusion appointment since there is much to do but read, sleep, maybe talk, and watch videos. So if one of your friends are ones that like to sleep having a travel pillow to bring with them will save them the crank in the neck from the awkward position their head was in and give them extra comfort during the nap!

Theses are the 10 best gift ideas for you friends and family that have Rheumatoid arthritis or any chronic illness if you think about it.
